Photo of the Day — “The MuseumsQuartier’s official logo“
The MuseumsQuarter Wien (Museum’s Quarter, Vienna) or MQ is one of the best places to visit in Vienna.
It is also a place where I was able to snap this Photo of the Day of the MuseumsQuartier’s official logo recently, while I was doing my morning speedwalk.
The MQ is Vienna’s largest museum complex and features the Architekturzentrum Wien (Vienna’s architecture museum), the Kunsthalle Wien — a cultural space for rotating avant garde works, the Leopold Museum with its huge collection of Austrian art, and the MUMOK, which is the biggest museum for modern art in Europe.
You can also take the external elevator to the MQ Libelle — the roof of the Leopold Museum, which was opened in 2020, and offers superb views over Vienna.
Each museum also showcases various exhibitions throughout the year, so there is always something new to see.
Along with access to several worldclass museums, The MuseumsQuartier Wien includes an enormous courtyard where you can hang out with friends sitting on one of the many huge ‘sofas’ dotted around the place.
Or, if you prefer a slightly more formal setting, there are several excellent cafes and restaurants located around the sides of the courtyard where you can eat breakfast, lunch or dinner or just grab a beer or a cocktail.
In the winter, The MuseumsQuartier is also a wonderful place to enjoy a hot Glühwein (mulled wine) with friends, as all the restaurants in the courtyard erect heated tents where they serve various hot beverages to help you combat the cold Austrian winter.
Learn more about The MuseumsQuartier via their official website, and enjoy today’s Photo of the Day.
