Photo of the Day — “Unknown man looking at the MUMOK”
A quick visit to Vienna’s Leopold Museum earlier today garnered me this lovely Photo of the Day of a man looking out through an upstairs window, across the Museum’s Quartier to the MUMOK.
The Leopold Museum, by the way, is one of Vienna’s best museums.
It is the museum to visit in Vienna if you are interested in Austrian art, as it has an enormous collection of works by artists like Gustav Klimt, Oskar Kokoschka, and Richard Gerstl, as well as the world’s largest Egon Schiele collection.
The museum is also one of Vienna’s newest, only opening in 2001.
The Leopold Museum is in the center of Vienna, and easily accessible via the city’s U3 U-bahn line to the Volkstheater station, or on Tram Lines 1, 2 and D to the Dr.-Karl-Renner-Rin stop.
Heading to the museum is also a cheap, fun way to spend a morning or afternoon.
After all, a ticket to the Leopold Museum is currently only €15.00 for adults, €11.00 for seniors and students, and only €2.50 for those under 19 years of age, with kids under 7 being admitted free.
