Kino am Naschmarkt is Friday, July 21st but what film will be showing?

In the summertime, Vienna has a slew of open-air films being shown all around the city.

One of the most popular ones is Kino am Naschmarkt, an  open-air film event that occurs right next to the famous Naschmarkt itself in the parking lot of the Kettenbrückengasse U4 station.

The movie in this case is projected onto the wall of a building behind the market, and headphones are handed out to the crowd so you can hear it as well as see it.

The next Kino am Naschmarkt is on Friday, July 21st and kicks off with a live performance by Austrian band Kaiko. Then there will be a few short films from the VIS Vienna Shorts Agentur before the movie itself starts.

But which movie will be showing?

Ah, that is always half the fun of the night because you won’t get that information until you are actually there and the film starts playing.

Remember to take along an official photo ID if you want to borrow headphones (they’re free!), or you can always take your own. You will also need something to sit on, or your bum will get numb for all that parking lot concrete.

Kino am Naschmarkt starts at 7.30 with the handing out of headphones. Kaiko plays at 8pm and the film program begins at 9pm.
